The Exumas

    The Exumas

The Exumas are made up of 365 islands and cays strung out like stepping stones across more than 120 miles of ocean.

    THE FLAVOUR

The bright white sand of the deserted beaches contrasts strikingly with the deep aquamarine and jade hues of the water, making this chain one of the prettiest in The Bahamas.

    KEY FEATURES
The Exumas are famous for their activities and events. One of The Islands of the Bahamas' most prestigious events, the annual Family Island Regatta, is held on The Exumas every April.  The regatta is a race between Bahamian workboats - hand-made sloops with wooden hulls, canvas sails and tall wooden masts. One of the most memorable activities on these islands is to go swimming with pigs in Staniel Cay.  These domesticated pigs are used to being fed by humans and will swim out to boats to greet them.
