1. How do I enter the competition?
To enter you will need to sign up and submit your entry, (entry for video submissions is now closed)
2. How old must I be to enter The Bahamas 14 Islands Film Challenge?
You must be 18 or over. Full entry requirements can be found by clicking here.
3. What format must I upload my film in?
Your film file must be saved in one of the following formats: .mov, .mp4, .wmv or .flv
4. Is there a size limit for my film?
Yes, your film file should be no more than 50MB in size.
5. Can I enter the 14 Island Film Challenge if I live outside the UK?
No, you must be a resident of Great Britain.

7. I am having problems uploading my written 'treatment' what should I do?
Your written treatment should be saved in one of the following formats: .txt, .doc or .pdf. Check your treatment is saved in one of these formats. If you are still having problems, sign out of your profile and sign in again. Try a different web browser.
8. What is the word count for my submitted 'treatment'?
500 words maximum.
9. Am I allowed to work with another person to write my treatment?
No, we'd like to see your point of view and creative ability.
10. What is the closing date to enter the 14 Islands Film Challenge?
You must sign up and submit your entry by 31 October 2009.
11. What is the closing date for the submission of the 42 short films?
The closing date for the submission of the 42 short films is 30 November 2009. The judges will then select 14 winners.
12. When will I be notified if I get through to the final 14 filmmakers?
The 14 winners will be notified that they have been chosen to travel to The Islands of The Bahamas by e-mail or phone by Monday 7 December 2009.
13. When would I need to be available to travel to The Bahamas should I be successful?
The final 14 must be available to travel to The Bahamas between 26 January and 31 January 2010.
14. How many days do the filmmakers have in The Bahamas to research, shoot and edit their short film?
14 days.
15. How do I travel around on-island during the filming?
The 14 filmmakers will be provided with the facility of a hire car for a limited period on-island. You must provide a full and clean UK driving license, if you intend to make use of this.
16. Do I need to arrange personal insurance if successful?
The promoter will arrange personal travel insurance for each filmmaker.
17. Do I need a visa to travel to The Bahamas if I am a resident of the UK with a British passport?
No.
18. Will I be able to claim any expense incurred when making my local hero short film entry?
The 42 short-listed entrants will be given £100 expenses towards the cost of making their local hero short film entry.
19. Do I own the copyrights to my local hero short film entry?
Yes.
20. Will I own the copyright to my film shot in The Bahamas?
No. The intellectual property and copyright of the films shot and made in The Islands of The Bahamas by the 14 filmmakers is owned by The Bahamas Tourist Office in the UK who owns the right to use the film and footage in perpetuity.
