Bharat Nalluri – Film Director and Chair of Judges

Bharat is an Indian born British based director who made his first film on his father’s super-8 camera at the age of ten. Heavily influenced by the movies of his youth - Star Wars, Jaws and Alien - Bharat set out on a directing career.

From early beginnings in his home town of Newcastle, Bharat has worked on projects for Columbia, Miramax, Twentieth Century Fox, FilmFour, BBC, HBO, Disney and Focus Features to name but a few. His work has spanned a range of genres and skills from 2nd unit direction on Resident Evil and Alien V Predator, directing period comedy such as Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day, to being the original director behind three of the BBCs biggest ongoing hits of recent years – Spooks, Hustle and Life On Mars - and directing the award-winning Tsunami: The Aftermath. On the way his projects have garnered International EMMYs, BAFTAs and Golden Globe nominations amongst many others.

Nik Powell

OCCUPATION
Producer and Director of National Film and Television School.

KEY INFO
Nik was the Executive Producer on Neil Jordan’s The Crying Game which was nominated for six Oscars, and won best original screenplay. He also produced ‘Fever Pitch’ starring Colin Firth, and ‘Little Voice’, starring Michael Caine and Jane Horrocks. Nik is Vice Chairman of the Bafta Film board and member of the Bafta Board of Trustees.

Finola Dwyer

OCCUPATION
Producer.

KEY INFO
Finola’s most recent production is An Education, written by best-selling author and screenwriter Nick Hornby, and starring Peter Sarsgaard, Alfred Molina, Rosamund Pike and Emma Thompson. Finola is the Chair of the BAFTA Film Committee and a BATFA board member. She also regularly chairs and participates in Script Factory events and has chaired the BAFTA/Rocliffe New Writing Forum.

Tommy Thompson

Deputy Director General of Tourism for The Islands of The Bahamas.

Tommy returned to London after 4 years in The Bahamas to focus on developing European and Asian markets.

David Parry

OCCUPATION
Product Intelligence Professional

KEY INFO
David has spent his working career in the photography industry and has worked in photo processing labs both high street and professional. He has also worked in independent photo retailers selling both still and video cameras to the public. In 1997 he set up his own photographic business offering photographic services including wedding, studio photography and specialist printing services. In 2008 he joined Canon UK as the Product Intelligence Professional for photo video products. Since his early teens he has been shooting still and video and has seen the changes in the industry and is looking forward to the future of photography.
